Coming Full Circle: Veriff Is Acquiring Vespia

Today, we are sharing an important milestone in Vespia’s journey. Veriff is acquiring Vespia.

This step brings Vespia’s Know Your Business (KYB) technology into Veriff’s trust platform, marking a full-circle moment for our founding story. One that started years before Vespia was founded.

While this is a strategic move for both companies, it is also a personal one. At its core, this moment is about people, shared values, and a long-standing belief in how trust should be built online.

From Veriff’s Early Days to Founding Vespia

When Julia Ront joined Veriff as its second employee, the company was still in its earliest days. It was a small, ambitious team working to prove that online identity verification could be more accurate than face-to-face checks.

Those years shaped not only Veriff’s early product thinking, but also Julia’s understanding of what it takes to build trust infrastructure. Speed, accountability, and a willingness to solve hard problems mattered.

In 2021, after helping build Veriff from the ground up, Julia left to start her own company.

That company became Vespia.

Together with co-founder Anton Vedešin, Vespia was created to focus on a growing gap in global compliance. Not just understanding who an individual is, but also which businesses can be trusted.

What We Built at Vespia

From day one, Vespia was built as a KYB-first company.

Over the years, our team developed an end-to-end KYB platform designed for real-world complexity:

• Global business registry data across more than 300 jurisdictions
• Shareholder and UBO verification for complex ownership structures
• Customizable onboarding flows tailored to different risk profiles

Our goal was always simple. Make KYB scalable, intelligent, and automated without sacrificing quality.

That focus is what led Veriff and Vespia to this point.

Why This Step Makes Sense

Fraud networks are evolving. Regulations are tightening. Businesses increasingly want a single trusted partner rather than managing multiple vendors for IDV, KYC, KYB, AML, and monitoring.

By bringing Vespia into Veriff, KYB becomes part of a broader trust platform. One that already powers identity verification for leading global companies.

For Vespia, this means our KYB technology can operate at a much larger scale. It also means tighter integration with identity verification and long-term product investment.

Most importantly, it ensures continuity in quality. Customers can expect the same KYB standards they know from Vespia, now powered by Veriff’s platform and reach.

What Happens Next

As part of this next chapter, the Vespia team will join Veriff, and our technology will be integrated in phases:

• Phase 1 (Q1 2026): Team and technology integration. KYB available through Veriff’s Limited Access Program.
  
  
• Phase 2 (mid-2026): KYB becomes commercially available across the Veriff ecosystem.

The long-term goal is to make KYB available as a standalone product or bundled with identity verification, fully integrated into Veriff’s enterprise-grade trust platform.

A Full-Circle Moment

For Vespia, this moment is one of pride.

We built something meaningful, solved hard problems for our customers, and assembled a team that is now continuing this work inside Veriff.

For Julia, this is a full-circle return. From early Veriff builder, to founder, and now back at Veriff with the company she built.

For both teams, it reflects a shared belief. Trust scales best when it is built by people who know and trust each other.
